Sahim ZaidAs the old saying goes, you begin saving the world by saving one person at a time…

It is my upmost pleasure to assume the role of president of the Pompano Beach Lighthouse Rotary Club. I’m looking forward to furthering the educational reach and community impact of our club. After four years of helping where needed I have signed on to serve two terms, 2022-2024.

My Background

My career is in Business Development Services – as Senior Graphic Design Specialist with a background in Human Centered Design, User Interface Planning & Marketing Communications. I possess more than 20 years experience in rolling out corporate branding controls for fortune 500 companies; producing executive level presentations; designing/launching portfolio websites; developing adult learning curriculums; and planning digital marketing campaigns.

My goals include:

  • Improving our club infrastructure i.e. website, social platforms & member communications
  • Playing a key role with helping my club attract new members and building lasting community relationships
  • Inspiring our youth to seek assistance and participate in programs that impact them to become tomorrow’s leaders

My granddad once explained to me that most people can go anywhere they want in life; however, they’re sure to need someone’s help with getting there. My name, Zaid, means “growth and prosperity” or one who helps others “grow and prosper” and I’ve found that in being a Rotarian.

Since becoming a member, I’ve increased my reach to perform “Service above self” duties from distributing dictionaries to elementary students to awarding academic scholarships to high school seniors. I’ve found a home amongst like-minded individuals who share the same interests.

These photos are from the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Conference in Islamorada. I highly recommend that you enroll your 10 & 11th graders for next year.
